Important News about Sports Physicals
Effective immediately, Premier Medical Group will no longer provide sports physicals. This decision came as a result of the Professional Practice Committee reviewing what was required for local athletes to play in school sports. The physicians serving on that committee felt that a more extensive physical should be performed. If the child has had a physical examination within the last year or when the child has a preventive care examination, their Premier will be glad to complete the required form for them to play sports. The good news about this is that children will receive a more comprehensive evaluation with most insurance plans paying for a portion if not all of the cost of the visit. These physicals should be scheduled with the patient’s primary care provider. <back>
