A. Humberd, M.D. of Clarksville received a Special Achievement Award from the
Tennessee Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (TNAAP) / Tennessee
Pediatric Society at its annual awards dinner, this year held in Nashville on
September 8th. Dr. Humberd, a developmental pediatrician with Premier
Medical Group, received this honor for outstanding service rendered to children
with special health care needs. Dr.
Humberd was a 2001 Grant Recipient for a Community Access to Child Health
(CATCH) grant from the American Academy of Pediatrics and has served as the
Director of the Medical Home Planning Project created from that grant. He also
Chairs the Committee on Children with Special Needs for TNAAP, and in that
capacity has testified before the state legislature numerous times. “As
an advocate for children, Dr. Humberd is most deserving of this special
recognition,” stated Dr. Joe Lentz, President of TNAAP. “He has successfully
built a coalition to promote the medical home program for children with special
health care needs and one which facilitates continuity of care.” The
Tennessee Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics / Tennessee Pediatric
Society is a statewide membership and child advocacy organization comprised of
more that 1000 pediatrician and pediatric sub specialists in Tennessee dedicated
to the health, safety, and well-being of infants, children, adolescents and
young adults.
