PMG Names Employee of the Year The all staff meeting held on April 23rd was a time for cheers and tears as some of Premier’s brightest and best were recognized that evening as the annual Employee of the Year awards were presented. The management team from each location selects the Employee of the Year from the site Employee of the Month recipients. Factors such as performance review score, attendance and safety records, committee participation and WOWs and Starfish awarded are used in the selection process. Once the site selections have been made, the names are forwarded to Senior Administration who then review the candidates and select the group-wide Employee of the Year. Similar criteria are considered and a candidate is selected that best exemplifies a role model for other PMG employees. The following employees were honored this year:
Dauna Sabin
All site recipients received a certificate and a check for $100.00. Congratulations to all of this years recipients!
PMG Lends Support to Dream Factory One of the organizations that the Premier Employee “Sunshine Fund” supports is The Dream Factory. We wanted you to know exactly what this organization is and tell you about one of its major projects. The Dream Factory was first started in Hopkinsville, Kentucky in 1980 as a Non-Profit Corporation. In April 1981, a few volunteers started a chapter in Clarksville. Allen Hall was elected Area Coordinator for the chapter and the first dream was funded by borrowed money. The Clarksville Chapter is comprised totally of volunteers who are dedicated to fulfilling the dreams and wishes of seriously ill children. The Dream Factory will grant the wish of any child who is selected through the screening process, regardless of race, religion, national origin, or financial status. Before granting any dream, The Dream Factory consults the child’s physician to ensure the appropriateness of the dream and that no medical problems should arise as a result of Dream Factory activities. In addition to making dreams come true, The Clarksville Dream Factory conducts a camp each year for children. Mary Woodall and Diane Miner developed the concept for a camp which catered to the needs of seriously ill children whose medical problems kept them from being able to attend regular camps or camps which concentrated only on one medical problem. With a one to one (or better) camper/counselor ratio, each camper gets to choose which activities and events he wants to participate in and when he wants to do them. An overview of Camp Rainbow with forty campers in residence can be seen as forty mini-camps, operating simultaneously, at the same location. Since our first camp in 1983 (we only had 14 campers), Camp Rainbow has proven to be a great and wonderful experience for these children who are normally excluded from summer camp. Camp Rainbow is located in The Land Between The Lakes area near Dover, Tennessee. The Dream Factory provides a full staff to include doctors, nurses, and one on one counselors on a 24-hour basis. Premier Medical Group is proud to be a sponsor of Camp Rainbow. The pediatricians in PMG rotate 24-hour shifts so the physician coverage is on-site each day. This is an incredible commitment on the part of our doctors. The next time you see them, thank them for “giving back” to such a wonderful cause. Beverly Taylor
